Nova Sea
Nova Sea has approximately 240 employees and an average annual turnover of 1500 million kroner. This positions the company as one of the largest at the coast of Helgeland. Our production facilities are located in 11 municipalities along the extensive Helgeland coastline.

The administration and industrial facilities are situated at the island of Lovund in the Municipality of Lurøy. All harvest and packing is accommodated here prior to distribution into our domestic and international markets.

The Lovund-based company Vigner Olaisen AS is the largest owner with approximately 51% of the shares, Marine Harvest owns approximately 42%, and 7% of the shares are owned by employees.

Quality
The commitment will always be to produce a salmon whose natural requirements have been properly maintained. Surveillance of our activities with attention to the environment is a key factor, to ensure the future of our activities in in cold, clean water and pristine surroundings.
Our duty and commitment is to deliver a product, appetising, tasty, safe and nutritious to our customer. This results in the best possible quality products!

We work hard and ceaselessly in Nova Sea at all stages of production to preserve and improve the quality of the salmon we produce – from smolt to the delivery to our customers. To us, quality also means the level of service in all phases of our work. Every single one of our employees has this as his or her focus!

A few premises for good quality:
– Good genetic quality, brought up to the seawater phase by smolt suppliers with maximum focus on expertise, biology and technology
– Good facilities with excellent flow of clean water
– Qualified and skilled employees that continuously monitor the salmon’s behaviour, appetite and health
– Feed that fully accommodates the salmon’s nutritional needs
– Regular following up and cooperation with veterinary personnel through all stages of production
– Close regional cooperation to ensure the best possible protection of the environment we work in – also seen in a larger perspective
– Careful and gentle handling of the salmon at all stages when physical handling is necessary, such as sorting, loading and slaughter
– Optimised packing line where quality is assured and protected at all stages
– Continuous cool handling chain from slaughter to delivery to the customer
– Size mixes and volumes as specified by the customer
– Open and honest dialogue with the customer if changes or deviations should occur, ensuring full cooperation with the customer to identify the best possible solution.

Strict criteria and protocols are adhered to through all processes to ensure that the customer can be absolutely certain that food safety has been fully accommodated – because we never take food safety for granted!

Products

We sell in the region of 30,000,000 kilos of “œsmart food” annually. It’s important to us that the products we sell are safe and healthy for our customers. This is why we have developed continuous monitoring systems that ensure that the products we sell conform to these high standards. Our main customer base is corporate customers that purchase fresh or frozen whole salmon. All products are delivered with full traceability, documentation of nutritional content, and to the venue designated by the customer.
