About Us
Olympic Seafood AS is a Norwegian seafood and specialty ingredients company, owned by Olympic Group (www.olympic.no), which is a fishing and offshore support vessels operator. The company is located on the West Coast of Norway in Fosnavaag, which has been one of the largest fishing ports in Norway since ancient times.
Olympic owns a specialized krill vessel with the name ‘Juvel’ that operates on the Antarctic Ocean. The specialised harvesting and production vessel utilizes the whole harvested krill biomass to produce ingredients for human consumption, such as krill oil and other krill extracts. The vessel has since delivery in 2009 harvested Antarctic krill in CCAMLR area 48 in the Antarctic Ocean.
Olympic owns two deep-sea arctic trawlers F/T ‘Olympic Prawn’ and F/T ‘Nordøytrål’. ‘Olympic Prawn’ has since delivery in 1999 been catching shrimp in the Arctic areas, off the coast of Spitsbergen, Greenland and off the Coast of Canada. ‘Nordøytrål’ has since delivery in 2001 been catching shrimp and cod in the Arctic areas, off the coast of Spitsbergen, Barents Sea, and the North Sea.
Certifications
Olympic Seafood’s krill operation in the Antarctic is certified by the organization Friend of the Sea. Friend of the Sea is a non-profit non-governative organisation (NGO), whose mission is to conserve the marine habitat.

The prawns from Olympic Prawn and Nordøytrål are certified by the organization KRAV. KRAVs vision is: “All production and consumption is sustainable and comes from a healthy earth”. The label promise is “You get more”.
Products:
Our vessels F/T Olympic Prawn and F/T Nordøytrål deliver high quality seafood products like artic shrimps and H/G cod, haddock and saithe. The H/G fish are mainly sold through the Norwegian auctions, Sunnmøre og Romsdal Fiskesalgslag (www.surofi.no) and Norges Råfisklag (www.rafisklaget.no).
The prawns are mainly sold through our partly owned company Coldwater Prawns of Norway AS (www.prawnsofnorway.no)
