Description
In 2004 a group of oyster producers got together and started discussing their concerns about seafood production and supply. Quite simply there were too many boats taking too many fish. With three quarters of the world’s oceans officially ‘over-exploited’ they knew they had the capacity to make a difference.

The oysters they supplied were farmed responsibly, using safe methods designed to repopulate and rejuvenate in the ocean naturally. They decided that marketing their product directly to international and domestic markets provided a delectable source of fresh oysters and seafood and was a logical progression for sustainable seafood supply.
Quite simply the world loves seafood. Providing international markets with fresh Australian Sustainable Seafood without depleting our magnificent natural resource was clearly a win-win. SEA provides a local solution to a global problem.
Today, SEA is one of Australia’s largest seafood exporters. CEO Michael Filippidis spends the majority of his time in Asia, and most recently opened SEA’s first China office.

SEA sources its produce from a growing number of regions including Coffin Bay, Streaky Bay, Smoky Bay, Ceduna, Haslam and Franklin Harbour.

Products
Seafood has long been recognised as one of the healthiest and well balanced foods to eat.  Seafood is low in fat and averages less than 2% fat and kilojoules, with fewer kilojoules than even the leanest meat or chicken. And of course with seafood you don’t need to trim any fat. Simply eat fresh or grill, barbecue, bake, steam or poach seafood to keep a low kilojoule count.

While cholesterol is an essential part of all living animal tissue, levels of cholesterol can be too high if we eat too much saturated fat. Seafood has very little fat of any kind and what it does have is mostly unsaturated fat. Eating fish two or three times a week can help lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease.

Seafood is an excellent source of quality protein, high in vitamin and minerals including iodine, zinc, potassium and phosphorus. It is also rich in many vitamins, especially the B group.

Omega-3s are essential nutrients that play a critical roles in our bodies. And, just like minerals and most vitamins, our body cannot make them, seafood contains high levels of Omega 3 Fatty Acids.

Oysters
SEA oysters include Smoky Bay, St Peters Island, Coffin bay, Streaky Bay, Denial Bay, Water Witch and Franklin Harbour.

Oysters are healthy, natural and full of goodness.  They are full of protein, iron, vitamin B12 and essential minerals needed to stay healthy.  100% of our daily recommended intake can be obtained from eating a dozen oysters.

Seafood Exporters Australia oysters are grown and harvested from pristine Australian oceans from Ceduna down the coast and include Coffin Bay oysters.  Seafood Exporters Oysters are grown to an adult size between 50 and 100 mm and remain on ocean racks until they are fully grown.  This guarantees a rich plump tasty oyster that can be shucked and eaten straight from the shell.

Harvesting and packing takes place the day before shipping.  SEA has a registered AQIS approved state of the art processing facility which is located 12kms from the airport, here our oysters are sorted and packed. Delivery is in our own trucks, ensuring our quality and fresh guarantee is maintained.
