How did it all start?
Congalsa started its activity in the early 1990´s, specializing since then in the elaboration of precooked frozen products deriving from fish.

Since the beginning of its activity, we have tried to be primarily good manufacturers, and because of it, we have maintained since our first year a policy of reinvesting consistent profits, providing us with a good infrastructure and advanced machinery, which, together with the know-how provided by a team of highly trained professionals, permits us to be a leader among the Spanish companies in our field.

At the present time…
At the present time, we have three factories with a production capacity of 26,000 tons per year and more than 50,000 cubic meters of cold storage. It is the result of constant innovation and our commitment for quality and best service. We have managed to be present in the most demanding markets, and currently have a portfolio of over 60 active customers in over 25 countries. Our products are represented well with our brand or private label, in the most important European distribution chains, but we also supply the food industry and wholesalers.

Certified Quality
Today we have IFS and BRC quality certificates; “high level” IFS Food recently obtained; environmental certification ISO 14001 and EMAS.

Quality control and research are two of our fundamental pillars and we believe that its efficiency will play an important role in our future success. Since our origin, we ensure the fish quality that we use with our own inspectors who guarantee that the technical specifications agreed at purchase are carried out.

RRHH
Recently, we have obtained the OHSAS 18001certification. OHSAS is a specific standard certification of Risk Prevention System. This certification ensures that the system designed is effective and efficient, while complying in its documentation requirements with the legislation on safety and health. Managing Occupational Risks is integrated into Congalsa in its facilities, machines, and the everyday work.

And in the future, where are we heading?
Its aim to continue growing may be perceived by its investment in technology and machinery, in the training and development of its employees, and in the acquisition of quality raw material for its final products. We understand that only with constant innovation in our products and processes, and always thinking of the final consumer as our guide, we will be able to meet the demands of an increasingly demanding public.
