Since 1965, when John Collins started carrying fruit and vegetable produce between the Adelaide and Melbourne markets with a Dodge Tray-body, he has been committed to the philosophy of treating his customers’ business like his own. Providing a consistent high level of service with the most suitable equipment for the job, Collins Adelaide has become a leading carrier of fresh fruit and vegetables to Melbourne and Sydney. John’s sons, Neil and Craig are a key part of Collins Adelaide’s support staff and along with drivers, mechanics, loaders and office personnel – a great team in a friendly working environment ensures the daily freight task is completed in and on time.

Transport
Our fleet of trucks and vans offer state of the art in temperature monitoring, coupled with our highly trained and skilled drivers we offer:

Scheduling

We have developed:

Storage Warehousing
Our storage capacity (3500sqm) is significant for any produce – we provide Dry, Chilled, Frozen and Ambient environments. Thermally controlled environments with backups ensure your produce is kept in peak condition.

We can store on a long or a short term basis. We have freezer storage to suit all your individual requirements – up 3000 pallets. We offer a personalised service or you have the opportunity of controlling your storage requirements yourself.

Our training and policies/procedures are among the best in the industry. We back this up with our long term policy of meeting and exceeding food safety standards and a strong environmental ethic.

From water recycling to oil and fuel conservation systems, our environmental consideration is fingerprinted throughout the industry. Fatigue management is far more than an accreditation and policy for Collins – through the use of sleep management strategies which include sleeping quarters throughout the country, we ensure our drivers are able to comfortably adhere to policies.
