Partnerships come in many shapes and sizes, and for the owners of Boston Wholesale Lobster Corp., Bill Palombo and David DiCenso, it was their own personal experience in the lobster business for the last forty years and working together for the last fourteen years that forges the basis for a successful business.
In 1907, Bill Palombo’s Grandfather, Erasmus, a fisherman by trade, emigrated from Italy and settled in Nahant Massachusetts and started fishing for lobsters with traps from a rowboat in the immediate area off the local coast. His two sons fished with him as children and one-son, Raymond, Bill’s uncle, continued fishing and building boats throughout his life.

Boston Wholesale Lobster, Corp. is located at 78 Marine Blvd in Lynn and is on Lynn Harbor and even though it has one of the most modern and efficient refrigerated closed salt water holding systems, holding 85,000 pounds of live North American lobster (Homarus Americanus) and unlike other inland facilities, the facility has availability to a constant supply of salt water directly from the Atlantic Ocean. BWLC’s holding tanks are the cleanest in the industry and our overbuilt biological filter system keeps our lobster in the most healthy condition to arrive at the most far away destinations of Hong Kong, Beijing, Japan, Korea and Singapore, alert and full of life. Our shipments arrive at their destinations with the lowest mortality rates in the industry. Our advanced holding system reduces the stress on our lobsters and gives our customers a consistently superior live lobster. Because we are only fifteen minutes from Boston’s Logan International Airport, we can easily handle last minute orders and our shipments are packed closer to airline departure times and do not have to spend hours on the road being driven to theairport. Boston Wholesale Lobster, Corp’s facility is HACCP compliant and a Certified Cargo Screening Facility. Once your shipment is put on our truck and our doors sealed, it needs no further inspection at the airport avoiding extra time spent in transit.

All our lobsters come from the cold deep waters of the North Atlantic. Bill Palombo, who has been in the lobster business for over forty years, still owns three offshore lobster boats that supply some of the delicious deep sea lobster that BWLC sells. BWLC specializes in hard shell lobsters for some of the most discriminating customers from all over the United States and the world. Our hard shell lobsters are available all year round and the price is based on the seasonal supply and demand of the lobsters.
