About Us
Alaska General Seafoods (“AGS”) is a shore-based seafood processor who acquires, cans, freezes or provides fresh seafood products to wholesale buyers from around the world.
Headquarted in Kenmore, Washington, Alaska General Seafoods (AGS) operates two majo processing plants in the state of Alaska. In terms of seafood volume, both plants are located in the top 20 U.S seafood ports. One plant located in Southeast Alaska (city of Ketchikan) and the other in South Western Alaska (city of Naknek). The plants operate on a seasonal basis during late spring through the summer time.
At the peak of the fishing season, AGS employees more tha 700 people in all of their shore-side operations. During the fishing season, AGS procures wild Alaska salmon and herring from hundreds of independent fishermen. AGS continues to be a major sockeye salmon in the growing value-added frozen salmon fillet and skinless and boneless canned salmon markets.

Alaska General Seafoods supplies retail chains, seafood distributors and smoke houses worldwide with the finest quality fresh wild salmon. Our clients in Europe, Asia and North America eagerly await our wild Pacific catch each year. They know our commitment to quality means we select only the best for our fresh salmon program.
We quick freeze our salmon to preserve their quality. Some customers have been purchasing our first rate frozen salmon for over 10 years. Our rigorous quality control measures have fostered an international loyalty to our frozen brands: AGS, Canfisco and Queen Charlotte.
All five species of wild Pacific salmon are available as fresh or frozen steaks, fillets or portions. We offer portion and unit controlled sizing and will work with you to ensure that the product is packaged to your specifications.
Wild Pacific Salmon is one of nature’s healthiest and purest foods, and is an excellent source of protein that is low in saturated fat. Salmon also contain highly unsaturated oils, called omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are unique to fatty fish like salmon, and has been linked to numerous health benefits. Compared to other protein sources, salmon is also generally lower in fat and calories than beef, poultry or pork, and contains about the same or slightly less cholesterol.
