Environmental Policy
At Austevoll Laksepakkeri AS, we understands the absolute importance of protecting the environment as a key to the survival of the fishing industry. Operating with a strict sustainable environment policy, we strive to ensure that our products are produced only from environmentally sustainable sources, from the minute the fish are caught, to when they are delivered to your door.

We purchase our fish from a modern fleet of vessels. Given the newness of the vessels, they are more efficient when it comes to burning fuel then much older vessels. This in turn reduces the amount of carbon emissions put out into the environment.

During processing at our factory, we ensure that the water we use is cleaned before it is drained away. Each factory is subject to strict water discharge controls. There are various other policies and systems in place to guarantee that only safe and environmentally procedures are used.

Once the fish has been processed, it is packed into boxes which are recyclable. We guarantee that our boxes are produced from material taken from sustainable forests.

All our products will be supported by a traceability system.

Quality Policy
Austevoll Laksepakkeri AS understands the need to protect the fine quality of fish we buy so as to pass it onto our customers.

The Operations & Quality Control (QC) Departments at Austevoll Laksepakkeri are responsible for quality management at our production facility. Our Quality Controllers (QCs) ensures that the landings at our factory are looked after as carefully as possible to preserve the natural quality of our products.

It is the responsibility of both the Operations Manager and the Quality Manager to make sure the fish are suitable for the products produced and that the staffs are producing them to the correct specifications.

As the fish enter the factory, great care is taken to move them quickly through processing and into the freezing system, retaining optimum freshness and quality. Quality and weight checks are continuously taken during production so that we can achieve a consistent product.

All our production facility are covered by a HACCP system and we are constantly upgrading our quality management system to comply with the International Food Standard.

All our products will be supported by a traceability system (SEATRAQ).

Accreditation
Austevoll Laksepakkeri AS is committed to providing the highest quality product to our customers while protecting our staff and the environment. It is easy to just make this statement but within our factory at Austevoll, we have the evidence to prove it.
