With head office in Nuuk Greenland, Polar Seafood is the largest privately owned fishing company operating in Greenland. Polar Seafood is one of Scandinavia’s strongest suppliers of a wide range of seafood ideally suited to processors, wholesalers, caterers and retail customers. Cold water prawns, Greenland halibut, Redfish, Cod etc. are caught by Polars Seafoods own modern sea trawler fleet. Our processing factories in Greenland and Denmark are Higher Level BRC and IFS accredited.
About Polar Seafood – Seafood since 1984
Polar Seafood Greenland A/S was established in 1984 as the sales & marketing company for a number of independently owned Greenland prawn trawlers. Today Polar Seafood is one of the top seafood exporters in Scandinavian and the largest privately owned company in Greenland.
More than 25 years of experience and with over 900 employees in the group, Polar Seafood continues its growth strategy, investing in state of the art landbased and seaborne production facilities alongside its International sales offices dedicated to providing customers with desirable seafood products. Polar Seafood owns a highly modern fleet of large trawlers built for fishing Cold water Prawns, Cod, Greenland halibut, Redfish and Snow Crab. The fish and shellfish are processed and frozen onboard the trawlers.
Complementing the central sales office in Vodskov/Denmark, Polar Seafood has established sales companies in England, Norway, Sweden, Italy and Canada.

Food safety and quality
Traceability from sea to plate
Food safety and food quality are top priorities at Polar Seafood. As we catch most of the products ourselves and have a strict quality policy, we are able to offer superb seafood products with full traceability. All raw materials entering our production are subject to comprehensive checks.
Polar Seafood’s quality management system has been established in accordance with the HACCP principles which encompass the Company’s own stringent control system. Our internal control system covers the entire process from raw materials to finished products.
Hygiene at Polar Seafood’s factories complies with the most rigorous requirements in the market and is based on strict regulations imposed by the Danish Veterinary Authorities, BRC, IFS and our own high standards. Hygiene requirements cover the design of buildings, production processes, working garments, attitudes, behavior and exacting cleaning procedures.
