Fishing Operations
All our product is frozen “whole” on board our trawlers at time of catching to ensure maximum quality and freshness. The product is packed in either 3×3 kg ,5 kg or 10 kg Pack depending on the species and market requirements at the time of catching.
The total catch volume can vary but normally we would expect to catch between 400 – 600 MT of whole prawn per year
The fishing seasons during which we operate in the Northern Prawn Fishery are:
Time of Year – Catch
1st April – 30th May: Banana Prawn, Tiger Prawn, Red Leg Banana
30th May – 1st Aug: Fishery Closed (One vessel catching King Prawn in the Broome Fishery)
1st Aug – 1st Dec: Tiger Prawn. Red Leg Banana, Endeavour Prawn
2nd Dec – 31st March: Fishery Closed
