GC Rieber Oils is headquarted on the northwest coast of Norway, in Kristiansund, and have a history dating back to 1879. GC Rieber started trading with fish oils as early as in the beginning of the 1900. And in 1992 they invested in what is a company that had been refining fish oils since 1965. Since then, GC Rieber Oils have been a global supplier of essential marine lipid products. In 2010, GC Rieber Oils entered the high end concentrate market, and are today a full range supplier of highest quality Omega-3 marine concentrates.

Having been a well reputed global supplier of a full range of marine sourced oils, GC Rieber Oils has invested in a high technological factory which can refine exclusive concentrates of marine omega-3. We now specialize in oils containing a high level of DHA. We constantly work with product development and clinical trials with customers and partners all over the world.

Our portfolio ranges from 33/22 type of products up to 90% Omega-3 content – all supplied in both EE (ethylester) and TG (Triglycerides) mixtures of Omega-3 lipids EPA/DHA. Our signature product is 70 DHA Ultra TG, an essential concentrated Omega-3 lipid formulated for all stages of life! It containes the highest concentration of natural DHA currently available on the market.

GC Rieber Oils prides itself in utilizing state-of-the-art, modern refining technologies guaranteed to provide highest quality, best-in-class marine oil product lines. Using patented proprietary production processes and quality assurance protocols, bulk marine oils are transformed into ultra pure concentrates tailored according to customer specifications and compliant with GMP, FDA and ISO 9001 standards and regulations.

Where does it come from?
The best sources of omega-3 fatty acids are fatty fishes like mackerel, salmon, sardine and herring. The relative amount of EPA and DHA also varies from species to species.

Sardine and anchovy oils have some of the highest EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) + DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) levels and are therefore used in our VivoMega™ products.

The crude oil purchased by GC Rieber Oils originates from countries that are signatories to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation’s code of conduct for responsible fisheries. The Code provides a framework for ensuring sustainable seafood by introducing strict catch limits each year based on the available amount of fish, and not on the demand for fish oil or fish meal. Sustainable seafood is defined as seafood that can maintain or increase production in the future without jeopardising the ecosystems from which it was acquired.

The rapid growth in the omega-3 industry presents challenges for obtaining sufficient amounts of raw materials in the future. GC Rieber Oils has been working closely with producers of raw materials in all its supplier countries to guarantee a secure supply for its customers.

Only the most suitable fish oil is selected to be processed into our exclusive brand of VivoMega. Using patented proprietary production processes and quality assurance protocols, bulk marine oils are transformed into ultra pure concentrates tailored according to customer specifications and compliant with GMP, FDA, and ISO 9001 standards and regulations:

Purification and concentration of bulk oil to optimize the omega-3 lipids
– High vacuum short-path distillation to achieve up to 90% total omega-3 content
– Careful enzymatic formation of TGs from omega-3 concentrates

This oil forms the basis for our top-range product, the VivoMega 70 DHA Ultra TG. Unlike many other producers of omega-3, we deodorise all our products at the end of the process. This removes smell and odour from the products. All our VivoMega ULTRA™ products can be delivered in either triglycerides (TG) or ethyl ester (EE) form.
