Quality
Gjendemsjø Fisk has high focus on quality security and hygiene and the aim is to be among the leading companies in this field. Today we have a good sanitary control system in our company and we have a good quality security system with full trace-ability at any stage of the production. Our raw material suppliers have to comply with our strict quality specifications and we regularly make microbiological tests of our finished products. We have one employee working full time with quality security matters. Our factory is HACCP approved and is also approved for Kosher production. The factory is new and modern and fulfills all requirements that have to be fulfilled for production of fresh and frozen food products. In 2004 Gjendemsjø Fisk was BRC certified which means that very strict routines are implemented to assure that quality and food safety is at the highest level.
In August 2003 Gjendemsjø Fisk achieved the Directorate of Fisheries’ Quality Award. The award is given to companies that have distinguished themselves by top quality on their activity and their products.
Gjendemsjø Fisk has also won quality awards in the Norwegian Championship for smoked and marinated salmon which is arranged every second year. Gold and Silver medal was won in 2011, Silver medal in 2009 and Gold medal in 2007.
HACCP
Fish and fishery products from Gjendemsjø Fisk are handled and prepared or processed in accordance with U.S. FDA’s seafood HACCP regulation 21 CFR 123.
BRC
In 2004 Gjendemsjø Fisk achieved BRC certification, higher level. The BRC standard is today the standard preferred by most of the large supermarket chains in Norway and Western Europe. The standard requires a.o. HACCP approval, a documented and efficient quality security system, control of the factory’s environment standards, products, processes and staff.
Kosher
Gjendemsjø Fisk is approved for production of Kosher products. The production is inspected by the Rabbinate of Oslo, Norway
