HAMMERFEST INDUSTRIFISKE AS
This company owns and operates the trawlers “Rypefjord” and “Doggi” and has 6 cod licences. Both the company’s vessels are fresh fish trawlers with freezer capacity. Hammerfest Industrifiske AS was founded in 1953. The “Dunsby” steam trawler was purchased from England and re-christened “Findus 1”. In 1954 the “Findus 1” was rebuilt and its name was changed to “Skaidi”. Another three trawlers were purchased from England and given the names “Rairo”, “Gargia” and “Masi”. In 1966 the company took delivery of its first stern trawler, the “Håja”.

Between 1970 and 1973 the company pursued a rebuilding programme and it acquired its current name. The “Gargia”, “Rairo” and “Jergul were completely rebuilt and upgraded in 1989, 1996 and 1997. In 2007 the company purchased the “Doggi” (ex. Soløyvåg) in order to replace the “Jergul”. The “Jergul” was then sold. In 2009 the “Nordfjordtrål” was purchased to replace the “Gargia”.
